Prompt pattern
Explain what happened after every action
Nearby progress, success, and error messages keep visitors informed without relying on colour.
Fills the component part of a prompt.
After a visitor submits or changes something, show a message beside that control explaining whether it is working, complete, or needs attention. Pair a short label with an icon and plain text, and move keyboard focus to serious errors. Do not rely on red or green alone, and keep successful confirmations visible for at least 5 seconds.
Use this component pattern when it changes the result the agent should produce. It provides one concrete direction without deciding unrelated parts of the website.
